What a Dark and Intense movie. You would never expect Ballet to be associated with Dark and Intense. Black Swan brings that and more. its one of the best psychological thrillers Ive seen in a while. The characters are perfect for their parts. The music is Amazing, it pulls you in deep with the movie. The costumes and make are unbelievable. The Black Swan look is Perfect. The action is enough to make you break a sweat. The deep dark parts are what give it the WOW factor.
The plot is about a ballet company starting their new portrayal of Swan Lake. The old Swan Queen is being replaced for a new one. So young aspiring dancers are given the chance to try out. Nina is picked because she dances perfectly, but she is still missing the sensual part to play the black swan. So the new girl Lily becomes her alternate and Nina becomes very worried that she will loose her spot. Which she has always dreamed of being. So she feels very paranoid about Lily, and starts to have psychotic episodes. These episodes get worse as opening night approaches. What will happen? you must go see this movie. Natalie Portman give it her best. She deserves to win the Oscar for her portrayal in this movie.
Plot: (from IMDB) A ballet dancer wins the lead in "Swan Lake" and is perfect for the role of the delicate White Swan - Princess Odette - but slowly loses her mind as she becomes more and more like Odile the Black Swan, daughter of an evil magician.
I have been dying to go see this movie. I have heard nothing but good things about it. Hopefully I will see it this weekend. Thanks Yara!!
ReplyDeleteI thought the movie was good. The ending was surprising but it definitely was one of those movies your left thinking about what the hell happened what was going on.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely one of those movies that's left for interpretation
