Booking Through Thursday is a weekly event hosted HERE. A Weekly meme about (mostly) books and reading.
What’s the most romantic book you’ve ever read?
(Mind you, I don’t mean the hard-core stuff you hide in plain wrappers under your mattress. I mean True Love, Romance, deeply emotional, heart-tugging, and all that stuff.)
And, secondly, did you like it? Is it your usual kind of reading, or did it take you by surprise?
Yara's Answer: I know my responds will seem like a cliche, but I have to go with Twilight back in 2007. Before Twilight I was not a YA reader, I just read your regular adult books. So at that time it was a very unusual book for me to read. The way Twilight suck me in had never happen before. I felt I could not take a breath until I would turn the next page to continue reading, it blew my mind away. I felt so many amazing feelings while I read it that it changed the way I read books permanently. I am now a Huge fan of YA and its all thanks to Twilight.
Jenny's Answer: My pick would have to be the Twilight Saga. I have read my share of romantic stories but none has had the hold on me that the Twilight Series has. I love reading romantic stories but the reason Twilight Sage is my first choice is because of the unconditional love that Edward has for Bella and the restrains he must face everyday just to be with her. That type of love is rare to find. The way the relationship between the two took me by surprise because it's not the type of relationship you see now-a-days. Where couples get to know each other's strengths, weaknesses and actually spend time with each other before taking the relationship to an intimate level. My parent's have told me stories of how woman and men used to be when they were younger and I felt as if this story took me back to those days. I absolutely love this story and can't wait until my daughter is old enough, so that I can read the story to her.
Ana's Answer: I have to agree with Jenny and Yara. The Twilight Saga has been the best romance story I have read also. While reading the books, I could actually feel the love and devotion they shared for one another. I especially loved how they connected with one another and how they couldn't live without each other because it was like their souls had become one. Now thats true love.
I only liked the first book in the series, I hate love triangles so I really had to struggle through the rest of the books. But that first one - kind of a perfect YA read.

I enjoyed the Twilight sagas as well. This was actually a difficult question for me. I just couldn't choose one. Check out my answer for this week's Booking Through Thursday.

ReplyDeleteI have to agree, when I first read the intro Twilight jumped in my mind. Yara said it best, before Twilight I had no idea about the whole YA buzz, now the genere has exploded with awesome writers and fantastic stories (Hunger Games for one) I first read it back in 2008, before the movie, and totaly was captivated. It's hard when as a adult women you have to defend you devotion to the seris when people only see the commercial effects of the movies, but the story is timeless, perfect romance at it's best!!
