Summary: (from goodreads) An indulgence for readers: the new Eve Dallas novel from the #1 New York Times-bestselling author.
First it was a limo driver shot through the neck with a crossbow. Then it was a high-priced escort found stabbed through the heart with a bayonet.
Random hits, thrill kills, murderers with a taste for the finer things in life-and death-are making NYPSD Lieutenant Eve Dallas angry. And an angry Eve can be just as an efficient and dangerous predator as the killer.
As time runs out on another innocent victim's life, Eve's investigation will take her into the rarefied circle that her husband, Roarke, travels in-and into the perverted heart of madness...
Dallas – a NYPD Lieutenant and Roark - a reformed grifter-hacker and business mogul, together with their troubled childhood upbringing have made them into a distinctive couple and the adventures have been non-stop.
In this story even on their well earned vacation, a murder disrupts their peace but what they find when they return home tops it all. Bodies are being found and nothing has been found to tie the loose ends, Dallas fears these are not regular criminals, but the worst of them all, thrill seekers. The competition between the killers escalates and she will become the final prize.
Can’t go into more details without spoiling it, all I will say is that J.D. Robb has done it again. Number 32 Treachery in Death is in my to read pile, can’t wait to get to it.
I'm always impressed too with how NR/JD Robb manages to come up with fresh ideas - Eve certainly gets stuck with some doozies! Of course, she always gets her man because she's a total badass, and she has Roarke on her side.
ReplyDeleteI thought the premise of this one was really clever, but I think I liked Treachery more - Eve vs. dirty cops. SO good! Can't wait to hear what you think of that, and I'm counting the weeks until NY to Dallas is published. Great review!
I'm almost done with Treachery, and so far is fantastic, can't wait to finish to review the copy of NY to Dallas we received, even the tittle sounds promising!. I am a total fan of NR/JDRobb both romance and adventure series
