This is Number 3 of the Krewe of Hunters series and is again surprisingly intriguing. The FBI special unit , known as the Krewe of Hunters has been engaged to help solve a spree of murders happening in New York City. They are suppose to help uncover whether a copy cat of Jack the Ripper is spreading terror in the streets of New York and/or if there are supernatural forces behind all these murders.

Jude Crosby, a high profile NYPD detective, is forced into combining his efforts with this FBI group known as the ghost hunters. His skepticism is put to the test when he meets the first agent Whitney, who arrived ahead of the rest of the group and accompanies him from now on to all his investigations. This conflict of believes between the Krewe members and the detective creates a lot of interesting and conflicting situations and is augmented when feelings between Jude and Whitney are becoming more personal.

The story is rich of early details of New York history and Jack the Ripper accounts and combines it smoothly with the developing of the drama in the book. You are kept on your toes constantly all the way to the end, your detective deductions are put to the test. It was hard to put down the book, since every page you turned brought a new set of questions to your logic. I recommend this book as a great read to those that are fans of detective, mystery and supernatural stories.
