Summary: (from goodreads) The sirens are back, but Vanessa may be the biggest threat of all. . . .

Nothing has been normal since Vanessa Sands learned that her sister was murdered by sirens—femme fatales of the watery depths—and that everything she believed about her family was a lie.

Her boyfriend Simon’s been the only person Vanessa feels she can really trust. But now there are some secrets she can’t tell even him. And when Vanessa finds herself in the sights of Parker, Hawthorne Prep’s resident charmer, she needs someone to confide in more than ever. Doubting her relationship with Simon, unsure of Parker’s intentions—and of her own—and terrified by what she’s learned about herself, Vanessa has never felt so alone.

But personal problems must be put aside, because the Winter Harbor sirens are back for revenge. Now, Vanessa must face her past and accept that she is just like her enemies—every bit as alluring, every bit as dangerous.

The eagerly anticipated second novel of the Siren trilogy, Undercurrentis a seductive paranormal romance that will leave you breathless.

When I first saw the cover of Undercurrent I really thought it was going to be a great book, especially since I have never read a book about sirens before. Unfortunately, it wasn’t that great of a read. I felt like the story dragged in the beginning and I didn’t get to relate to any of the characters either. Maybe if I had read the first book I would have a different feeling about it, but it just didn’t grab my attention. The one thing that bothered me with the writing was that the chapter would just end at a good scene and jump ahead and it left me wanting to know what happened. I liked the story line, but I felt like it need a little more.

After Justine’s death last summer, Vanessa has never been the same. She has developed a thirst for salt water and no matter how much salt water she drinks, it never quenches her thirst. You see, Vanessa is becoming a siren, a mermaid. She is in love with her boyfriend Simon, but is afraid that Simon is only in love with her because he is under her spell. Vanessa discovers many family secrets that will change her destiny and the way she views her life. Another problem is that people (men) have been showing up dead and they have all been drowned and have been found with a smile on their face– the way a siren kills their prey. If the sirens are back, will she know how to destroy them forever?
