Yara's Answer: Reading aloud is great especially when you have young children that have yet to learn to read. It begins to get them interested in books. Also playing audio books while reading the book helps children grasp the story better. Speaking of audio books, I just recently started to listen to them. Its so wonderful to hear the reader's voice express all the characters in the book. Its slower then reading a book but great in a different way.

ReplyDeleteI remember my mom always reading a book of my choice to me before I went to bed. And that actually helped me learn to read on my own.
Being a nanny, I sit down with the kids and we try to read as much as possible. I always read aloud to them.
I think this also is a reason I enjoy audiobooks though- some people can't stand them- I love them!!
of course when its just myself reading a book, I don't read aloud. lol UNLESS there is a sentence that doesn't sound right to me, or I just don't understand what it means. That usually helps.
