Friday Five: 9/23/11 - 5 Bookstores used to purchase books

It's Friday so that means Friday Five that was inspired by Author Cheryl Renee Herbsman. Our friends at Eve's Fan Garden and Page Turners also partake in this meme.

Each Friday we will post a question or topic, then respond with our five choices.

What are the top 5 stores where you purchase your books?

Jenny's Answers:
My answers are in order from the stores that i use the most to the one i use least.

  1. IBooks from my Ipad. I get it instantly, it can't get any better then that. And it has to be a book i can't wait for.
  2. Amazon - Since i purchase most of my books electronically to read from my ipad, I go to this website to purchase books if i can't find it or its cheaper then IBooks.
  3. Walmart. Usually while i'm grocery shopping, I ALWAYS stop by the books and magazine lane. If there happens to be something i like or something I've been looking for I buy it.
  4. Target. I usually go to this store, if Walmart doesn't have the book i am looking for.
  5. Barnes and Noble. I love going to this store, especially just taking sometime to sit at the store and read quietly, but unfortunately it's too far from my house and with these gas prices I have not purchased anything from here in a while. However, 9 out of the 10 books i do have are from Barnes and Noble.
Yara's Answers:
  • Barnes and Noble for ebooks
  • Walmart for Hardcovers
  • Amazon when I pre-order
  • PaperBackSwap
  • Local Indie Bookstore (usually for book signings)

  1. Thanks for sharing. As a book publisher (a teeny, tiny one), it's always interesting to hear where readers buy their books.
