My name is Aiden, and my favorite book used to be Peter Pan. My dad was reading it to me when the shadow came and touched my mom. Now, I don’t like to think about shadows that walk around by themselves. I try to remember the parts about how the Lost Boys built traps to catch the pirates, though. I build traps to catch goblins, because they’re after my sister. Her name is Teagan, and I’m not going to let them get her. Finn thinks he can take care of her, but he can’t. Not by himself. He’s The MacCumhaill, but he’s not magic. If I ever trap all of the bad guys, maybe I’ll ask my dad to read the rest of that book to me so I’ll know what happens to Peter and Wendy. But I’ll put my fingers in my ears if there’s anything else about shadows. I never, ever want to hear that part again. Never.
