Today I'm super excited to be part of The River of Time Series Blog Tour. The tour is hosted by Teen Book Scene HERE. I'm a huge fan of this series and Lisa. If you haven't started this series, you must! This will be our first stop on the tour then come back to see us on February 2nd for our second post in the tour. Today Lisa will be sharing with us a little bit about herself.
In Her Own Words: I’m the girl who looks incredibly busy, but manages to waste more time than you’d think possible on Twitter and Facebook. I have to go to the library in order to get any Serious Writing done, never logging onto the Internet while I’m there. I even have a favorite chair when I’m writing; if someone is in it, I sit uncomfortably close to them until they leave it and I can grab it. Being at the library also lets me escape my three children, husband and dog, who all like to hang out in my office when I’m home.
I used to be able to write early in the morning or late at night, but those days are over. I’m not a night person or early morning person—I’m a middle-of-the-day person.
I grew up in Southern California, and the first time I left North America, it was to go to Israel and Egypt—a mind-blowing, cultural experience. But when I went with my hubs, I fell in LOVE with Italy, where I’ve set six of my novels (and hopefully more to come). I’ve been five times and can’t wait to go back!
Currently, we Bergrens live in Colorado Springs. We moved to Colorado fifteen years ago to help start a Christian publishing division for Random House and now I think we’ll never leave—it’s a great place to live. We get the change of seasons, but not in a harsh way.
I’ve written 35 books. For more info on me, check out www.LisaBergren.com
Now as great as Lisa's In Her Own words was. Lisa has a pretty cool giveaway actually giveaways for you all. She will be hosting a scavenger hunt type giveaway and awards 23 prizes. She is offering 20 books and 3 Kindle readers. See I told you it was pretty cool. To read the complete details on this giveaway, just visit Lisa's page HERE.
I also love the series although I haven't read any of the books yet. My friend just recommended it to me and it got my interest so that's why I'm really determined to win even one book of the series. :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI loved Waterfall. I can't wait to read the next two books!
ReplyDeleteI've read the series twice already. Each time I read it I feel "alive" like how Gabi feels more alive in the 14th Century then in the 21st. So when i'm done reading them i feel like part of my life is gone :)
ReplyDeleteIt was nice reading about you
Thanks for hosting the first stop in the blog tour, Yara!
ReplyDeleteI just read Cascade a little while ago, and am determined to somehow get my hands on the other two :D I love how you 'stalk' your favorite chair, Mrs. Bergren. I would totally do the same!
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and your family as you go through this time. I'm amazed that you are still hosting this tour.
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed the post this morning. I love all of Lisa's work, so it is no surprise that I enjoyed reading this as well. I thinkit is wonderful for authors and reviewers to collaborate in order to spread the word. Great job and thanks for sharing!
I now understand why I never get anything done. Better take myself off to the library in a hurry. But at the same time I find the library a bit of a dangerous place. The books on the shelves call out to me. I just can't help but take them down and want to read them. I love the whole chair thing. I can picture it so well inside my head. But I would love to witness it. The fidgeting and glances of the ill seated person. Priceless!
ReplyDeleteI love these books! And I really want to visit Italy now because of them. The library story of sitting uncomfortably near people until they leave is hilarious!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are in my top favorite books of all time! I've read them all and can't wait for Mrs. Lisa to write more! PLease write LOTS more!!!
ReplyDeleteI have Waterfall!... but I haven't start it yet ):
ReplyDeleteI need to get on it soon! everyone seems to love this series ;)
Lisa's written 35 books?!?! *dies*
and btw, love Colorado! go broncos ;D
My thoughts are with you and your family! I can't wait to send you lots of lovely books! for you and your children!
ReplyDeleteThe library is definitely a great place to get away from temptation and work!!
ReplyDeletePS. Prayers are with you and your family Yara! Can't imagine what you are going through!
These books are totally competing with Ted Dekker's for my no. 1 book. Not an easy place to win since I read a ton ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your books and can't wait to read Bourne!!!!
Hi Lisa, this sounds like it's going to be a fun tour. I have plans to read this series and soon :) I love visiting my public library and I always come home with a handful of books.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read this series! Did not realize Lisa's written 35 books. I have only read a few so I'll have to look them up!
ReplyDeleteYou are a new author to me but i cant wait to read this series. Wow!! 35 books you've been busy. I work in a library so i find it interesting that this is where you do your serious writing but i guess it's different on the other side of the fence.
ReplyDeleteI could probably read at the library... Though to be honest I usually prefer book stores =)
ReplyDeleteI've tweeted you and you've responded (thank you!), but I wanted to add my comments to your blog as well. I LOVE River of Time series. I read all 3 in a week (took that long only because they are on my husband's kindle and I had to be nice and share. haha) That was last week. I've reread Waterfall already this week and into Cascade, loving them all over again. I will say my absolute favorite is your Gifted series, but River of Time is a very close second. I've loaned out my Gifted books or I'd be reading them again. :) Can't wait to read Bourne. God bless, Janene
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I get a lot more done when I don't have the internet up...;)
ReplyDeleteOHMIGOSH. This series is by far my favorite! I won't even bother with the "yet" because I just know that nothing else will beat these books. I really enjoyed reading this blog, and getting to know more about the author of my favorite books :)
ReplyDeleteI love this series!
ReplyDeleteI hope I win one of the books!
Would love to win one of these books! It's on my TBR list :-) The internet is a horrible distraction from writing...lol.
ReplyDeleteI love getting work done at the library. I basically lived there in college!
ReplyDeleteI love that she has to go to the library to focus!! I am the same way!
ReplyDeleteI love the library!! :)
ReplyDeleteIsrael and Egypt! What an experience that must have been. I've been to Egypt, but I'd really like to visit Italy. Especially after reading Waterfall:)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes!

ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for my library because I, too, use it as a place to study and get away from the noise and chaos of my household. They're excellent! Plus, I love books & can't resist living in them.
