Summary: (from goodreads) Waking up in a coffin hungry for blood is only the beginning for sixteen-year-old Ava Blue. When Chance Caldon, the hottie who dug her up, tells her that she’s half vampire, Ava’s world really turns upside down.

Half vamp? Ava can’t believe it...she doesn't even know what that means! Not until Aldric, a thousand-year-old vampire, shows up and tells her it’s true--and that he’s the one who turned her. Then Ava truly begins to believe what she is. Now, she has to deal with a sudden and powerful bloodlust, the desire to see Aldric dead, and her growing crush for Chance. Ava knows she's a monster now, she can feel it; and her life is over.

But redemption isn’t lost. Aldric is giving her a chance to regain her humanity. The price? Kill a hundred vampires, or remain a bloodsucker forever.

So Ava sets out to get her life back. But killing vampires begins a battle that could destroy everything she is working toward. In the end, Ava's decisions will forever change her life and the lives of those she loves.

Jenny's Review: Another cover that helped me visualize the MC is Blood Born. The entire time I was reading I can actually picture the girl in the cover as Ava. This story has a unique twist to the paranormal books out there and I enjoyed reading it. The characters are very well written and I loved Chance and his protective stance around Ava. Especially since he’s the one who helped her out of the coffin. WOW, I have heard my fair share of vampire stories but this one is new to me. Being buried alive is not something I would ever want to experience, maybe if Chance were there to rescue me I would consider it. Humph, maybe. Aldric is a little strange to me and mysterious but fits right into the story. The author painted a great picture to display his world of paranormal creatures and I loved reading every minute of it.

Imagine waking up inside of a coffin with no recollection of how you ended up there in the first place. Scary huh? Well that’s what happened to Ava. She doesn’t remember her past or even who her parents were and the only person who can tell her isn’t spilling a word. Her creator, Aldric is teaching Ava how to fight and how to live this new life as a vampire. Her hero, Chance has her back every step of the way but he’s hiding something and refuses to tell her. I can’t say any more otherwise I will spill the beans and I do not want to do that.

I conclude that Blood Born is a MUST READ for 2012, I highly recommend it.

Yara's Review: It's great when you get asked to host a blog tour, there is just the one thing you worry about. Will I love the author's book I just agreed to host a tour for? So its always great to read the book and end up loving it, so you don't have to go email the author back and cancel. So its makes the blog tour process a walk in the part when the the participants also like it. Jamie did a great job with his debut Blood Born and making paranormal and vampires his own. In a genre so popular and flooded with stories that deal with Vampires, I'm always amazed when a new author can create something that hasn't been written before.

In Blood Born we follow Avaline "Ava" Blue, Ava wakes up in a coffin. She is buried alive and pretty much freaking out. Then Chance is there rescuing her from that wooden box. What a hero right? Well Chance is also their for more than just rescuing Ava out of the group. He is there ego help Ava understand what she has become. Ava is now half-human and half-vampire. Ava will meet her maker which is Alric and let's just scything won't be easy between them. Ava wants to be different. She might not know who or what she was before waking up in that coffin, but she is determine to be who she wants now in the future. What is Ava to do when her human hero Chance has been kidnapped? This is all I will spill. If I give you more, I will spoil the story and that's not my style.

Jamie is definitely a debut author to read this year. You will be craving book 2, like a vampire needs blood.

Not one but two reviews to feel you on Blood Born. We have never steer you guys wrong. So either download the ebook or pre-order the hardcover, you will like this Humanized vampire tale.

Now as promised a look into book 2. Jamie provide two sneak peaks for you all.

Book 2 Tease 1:
I saw him as soon as he climbed out of his beat-up old truck, his backpack slung over his shoulder and his head facing the icy asphalt of the school parking lot. I didn't have to say a word to Kayla; she knew.
“Go on,” she said, practically shoving me toward him. I wanted to run to him, to throw my arms around his neck and squeeze the life I took from him back into his veins. I wanted to coat his face with kisses and bury my nose into the soft, warm skin of his neck and forget about the past month he had been ignoring me. I wanted to tell him that I was so desperately, infinitely sorry for what I had done, and that I would spend the rest of my life making it up to him.
But I did none of those things. Instead, I death-gripped the suddenly heavy straps of my own backpack, and took tiny, timid steps in his direction. My heart leapt into the center of my throat, thumping like the bass in Kayla’s stereo. I kept swallowing over and over as I carefully crossed the large expanse of parking lot—mostly due to the sheet of ice that had settled there, but also because I was scared as hell—hoping to quell the pounding that was desperately trying to get me to turn and run. I wouldn't turn and run. I wouldn't be a coward. Not again.

Book 2 Tease 2:
“Whoever said ‘time heals all wounds’ obviously never fought vampires. I mean, look at these.” Kayla stretched her tiny frame in front of the full-length mirror tucked into the corner of her room and lifted her black fitted tee up to her chest, exposing her purplish-yellow midriff. “No way these are gonna be gone by prom.” She twisted her back to face the mirror and arched her head over her shoulder to stare at the gigantic bruises flanking her side and moving around to just above her jeans. “It even hurts to pee.”
“Since when do you care about prom?” I winced along with her as she gently pressed at the contusions with her fingers while simultaneously sucking air through her teeth.
“Since Michael asked me.” Kayla had only been dating Michael for a few weeks—just before The Dance from Hell—but things seemed to be getting serious between them. She was different somehow, more open to things other than vampires, death and destruction. She dropped her shirt and bounced across the room to the bed, folding her legs beneath her as she sat directly across from me. I had to hang on to keep from being tossed into the floor.
“So I take it you’re going?” I already knew her answer—I’m sure she announced it to anyone with ears—but I feigned surprise.
“Aren’t you?” More air-through-teeth. “Ooh, sorry, Ava. I’m such an idiot. Just ignore me.”
“No, it’s fine,” I lied. “Really.” It wasn’t fine. Not by a long shot. But it was also unchangeable, so what could I do? The euphoria of Kayla’s mood burst like a popped balloon.
