Summary: (from goodreads) When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.

Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.

Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.

A secret Kale will kill to protect.

So this review is a case of Blogger ate my homework. I just realized that this review never posted and its no where to be found. So blogger is making me write it all over again, several months down the road. I wished you could have read my original review. Hopefully in this one I can write just as passionately as the first one. Because Touch deserves nothing less.

When I first heard of Touch, it was via the cover first. Of course when you see the cover without reading the book, you wonder who is this fine specimen of a male. If this cutie patootie is a character, then I must read it NOW. Turns out the blue-eyes boy on the cover is the Kale, he is the leading male character in the book. What a character he is, X-Men has nothing on him. Jus wrote such a sexy yet strong voice in him, that you can't help but fall for Kale immediately. Who cares that he might kill you if he touches you, with those blue-eyes its a small detail you can overlook.

Touch is a story that centers around Dez and Kale. Dez one day finds this boy out by the river, he has no shoes on. She wonders what the heck is he doing all alone out in the middle of no where. So what does a girl do, she takes him home of course. She begins to notice that he is fascinated with simple things one has in their homes laying around. Like if he has never seen these items before. He also acts strange if she gets to close to him. Well it turns out no one can touch Kale, because his touch kills you. The funny thing is that Dez ends up touching him and nothing happens to her. Let me tell you this is when you hop on the roller coaster ride that this book will take you on. Somehow Dez's father shows up at the house with guys looking all military and they are after Kale. How does a lawyer, even know these kinds of people. Seems Dez father's law firm, its more than Lawyers defending criminals. Dez's father is the head of an organization, that I would say trains and keeps kids locked up with special gifts. Dez is speechless, but poor Dez has no idea the secrets don't stop there. She will eventually find out about herself and who she really is, then she will have to join forces with Kale and a group called the sixes to beat the one person she never imagined she have a fight against, her father.

I really can't give you more, because I'd ruin the story for you if you haven't read it. This book kept my heart racing from start to finish. If your hands aren't shaking or you are not forgetting to breathe, then I don't know what your reading, because this book will cause all that. Then add that touch of sexiness, and its just got steamy up in here. Jus balances everything in her debut novel, I can't point my finger at anything wrong in these pages. I can't wait to read Untouched (book 1.5) and Toxic (book 2) and see what happens next with Dez and probably one of the sexiest boys in YA, Kale.

If your not familiar with Jus Accardo, then make yourself familiar. You will absolutely love her writing. I don't think I have ever led you guys wrong before. Of course if you like boring, then Jus will not work out for you. You should know by now that I don't give 5 tree ratings that easily!

  1. I started reading this one a while back but had to stop to get through my review stack. It's killing me not to be able to get back to it!

  2. Touch was nonstop action and I loved every minute of it. I never wanted the story to end. Immediately I fell in love with both Dez and Kale and everything they had to go through. Dez is the type of girl who can talk the talk and walk the walk. She has that snarky attitude that I know I use and even though she loves getting into crazy situations, I could easily relate to her. Kale is the total bad boy hottie who is both innocent and deadly at the same time. The way he grew up broke my heart but that never stopped him from turning into the swoon worthy guy we all love. I so can't wait to get in Toxic but before that I definitely need to read Untouched. Bonus points for being in Kale's POV.
