Summary: (from goodreads) What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys, and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university. But now there's a new guy in town who threatens her starting position... suddenly she's hoping he'll see her as more than just a teammate.

Once again I am surprised by a book. I have heard of Catching Jordan before and even sort of had the story spoil when I was eating lunch with a few bloggers, so I didn't think I would pick it up just because I knew what would happen. Of course I kept hearing all about it and how great it was and that a companion novel would be coming out this fall called Stealing Parker, so I decided once I got back from BEA I would read Catching Jordan. Let me tell you, I started and finished reading it yesterday in under 6 hours. It was fantastic, just like everyone had mention. Yes I knew going in I would know what happens here and there but even knowing that it was a exciting to read. Being that I played sports in High School and College, I could totally relate with this book. It was like revisiting those years all over again, but with hotter guys. Miranda Kenneally really knew how to captured those days of school.

If you are one of the few out there like me that had yet to read this fantastic book, Catching Jordan is the story of Jordan Woods. You can't really call Jordan normal. Unless being a 6' tall All-Star High School quarterback is your norm. So Jordan stands out not just for her height or football talent, but her father is a Quarterback for the Titans and her Brother plays for Tennessee. Jordan Lives, Breathe and Eats Football. Jordan's dream is getting a full ride to play for Alabama and she will do all she can to make that happen. She has been her high school teams captain and has the respect of her fellow teammates for the last 2 years. Jordan is a senior and pretty much all she needs to worry about is maintaining her focus and winning the games. That is until Ty Green shows up as a new student from Texas and was the Quarterback at his old high school. Jordan doesn't know if she wants to hurt the new guy or kiss him, she has lost her focus and finds herself day dreaming. Can Jordan find her mojo again and take her team to State or will she end of loosing her position and chances at Alabama? Jordan will start to see things in a new light and have new decision to make about her future. Did I mention the Hot guys, well Jordan is dating one and is loved by another, what is a girl to do!!!

I know I'm not a huge follower of Contemporary Romance or realistic fiction, but I do have my favorites that I have read. Catching Jordan will know join my list of favorites right alongside Stephanie Perkins Anna and the French Kiss or Lola and the Boy Next Door. Catching Jordan was so great in so many ways. It has the right amount of what I consider a great contemporary novel. Love, Lust, Angst and Hot Guys are just a few I can name. Miranda sure knew what she was writing in this tale. I can't wait to read Stealing Parker and get transported back in time once again to when being young and in love was all that mattered.

  1. This sound like that movie with Keke Palmer & Ice Cube. This is a good book to read or recommend to kids who are struggling to find themselves or those who needs encouragement to pursue their dreams.
