Summary: (from goodreads) Caught between a dream and reality, Brianna Rafferty finds herself in a unique love triangle between two guys that cast her into the most spellbinding journey of her existence.

Orphaned at a young age, Brianna resides with her aunt in the small town of Holly Ridge, North Carolina, where she stumbles into Gavin Mason, the sexy dark and mysterious new guy who defiantly has a secret worth uncovering. Gavin might absorb her days but it was Lukas Devine who had her nights. The boy next door guy of her dreams – literally, Lukas heats up her dreams and blurs her heart. The more time she spends with them, the stranger things become.

Her senior year is proving to be anything but uneventful.

J.L. Weil delivers a fast past fantasy romance in Luminescence, Part one of her Luminescence Trilogy. The outline of the story strongly reminded me of another wildly popular teen/YA novel with the awkward but attractive girl who struggles to find herself while also trying to balance a relationship two gorgeous guys This similarity did not however take away from the interesting story that the author told. The story definitely leaves you anxious for part two!

Brianna Rafferty, orphaned at a young age, now lives with her aunt in a small North Carolina town. She is plagued by insecurities typical of most teenage seniors in high school during her waking hours. But Brianna's dreams bring her another reality with the handsome Lukas Devine. The arrival of Gavin Mason, the new dark and mysterious guy at her high school, pushes Bri into an unexpected love triangle. At the same time Brianna feels strange powers awakening in herself that she is scared to acknowledge or embrace. As her life gets stranger, Gavin and Lukas push and pull her during her days and nights leaving her confused but determined to control her own destiny.
