Awesome choices! I've read many of those, but some of them I've never heard of! Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot about Wither! While it didn't immediately make me think, after a while I really thought about that world and how far is too far when it comes to science. I love that your lists are all pretty diverse, but there are some similar themes running through them.
ReplyDelete4 great list lots to think about and some new books for my to-read list

ReplyDeleteWow, so many YA books I've never read! 1984 is on my list too, Tammy. It was one of the first and most important dystopian novels. I LOVE the Lorax pick. I forgot all about children's books, I think I'd need a whole new list! Thanks for stopping by our Blog!
ReplyDeleteI almost included Harry Potter too, but didn't. Though it definitely did make me think about the way people perceive others and, of course, how quickly the media can skew anything!
ReplyDeleteHP, Divergent and Hunger Games have all made me think about several things. I'd say HP is one of the most influential piece of work our generation has seen and I think it's one of the reason why we love books so much, especially YA. THG is definitely one of the books that's been thrown out this week and I don't think there are that many people who can say that HG hasn't made them rethink their values.

Wow! Lots of fabulous books on these lists. I've only read a few, but I agree with you completely on those, so I probably need to now read everything on all of your lists! :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are all such great lists! I have a copy of Forbidden and Don't Breathe a Word sitting on my shelf that I really need to make time for. And I LOVE that I see The Lorax up there! <3

Awesome lists! There's a lot on here I have yet to read, but am happy to see The Hunger Games made it on. You wouldn't think it would cause a lot of thought, but after reading it I couldn't help but think about all the possibilities, political references, etc.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great lists!
ReplyDeleteI'd totally forgotten about Animal Farm... that was one of my favorite reads in school and definitely made me think.
ReplyDeleteGreat lists! Must read The Da Vinci Code at some point. I've only seen the film.
