Summary: (from goodreads) A broken past and a divided future can’t stop the electric connection of two teens in this “charged and romantic” (Becca Fitzpatrick), lush novel.

Seventeen-year-old Vane Weston has no idea how he survived the category five tornado that killed his parents. And he has no idea if the beautiful, dark-haired girl who’s swept through his dreams every night since the storm is real. But he hopes she is.

Seventeen-year-old Audra is a sylph, an air elemental. She walks on the wind, can translate its alluring songs, and can even coax it into a weapon with a simple string of commands. She’s also a guardian—Vane’s guardian—and has sworn an oath to protect Vane at all costs. Even if it means sacrificing her own life.

When a hasty mistake reveals their location to the enemy who murdered both of their families, Audra’s forced to help Vane remember who he is. He has a power to claim—the secret language of the West Wind, which only he can understand. But unlocking his heritage will also unlock the memory Audra needs him to forget. And their greatest danger is not the warriors coming to destroy them—but the forbidden romance that’s grown between them.

Let The Sky Fall was an incredibly well written novel that I completely enjoyed. Shannon Messenger has created an amazing world of love, power, feuds, betrayals, and drama. This book was fantastic and I couldn’t put it down. Let The Sky Fall was such a thriller and I think anyone will enjoy it.

Vane is your average teenager, except for a few things. His parents were killed in the same tornado that erased his memories. He’s never kissed a girl for some reason and he keeps dreaming of a beautiful girl that only exists in his mind. Or does she?

Audra has one mission: protect Vane at all costs. Audra is a sylph, a wind controlling creature, and so is Vane. Audra is Vane’s guardian, so she’s supposed to keep him protected at all times without showing herself to him. All that has changed now, because evil sylphs know where Vane is and they want to use his powers. As Audra trains Vane, he falls for her. She can’t be with him, though, his future has been decided already. Vane knows Audra loves him, but will she ever admit it?

Messenger did a wonderful job on creating a mystical world amidst a hot desert valley. Impossible things happen in a common place. Can a forbidden affair of the heart withstand the evil forces bent on destroying them? I recommend this novel to everyone looking for an out of this world, marvelous read. I am desperately hoping for a sequel.
