Summary: (from goodreads) In the follow-up to Colleen Hoover’s #1 New York Times bestseller Hopeless, the charming and irresistible Dean Holder tells the passionate story that has melted thousands of hearts.
In Hopeless, Sky left no secret unearthed, no feeling unshared, and no memory forgotten, but Holder’s past remained a mystery.
Still haunted by the little girl he let walk away, Holder has spent his entire life searching for her in an attempt to finally rid himself of the crushing guilt he has felt for years. But he could not have anticipated that the moment they reconnect, even greater remorse would overwhelm him…
Sometimes in life, if we wish to move forward, we must first dig deep into our past and make amends. In Losing Hope, bestselling author Colleen Hoover reveals what was going on inside Holder’s head during all those hopeless moments—and whether he can gain the peace he desperately needs.
What can I say? Reading this line breaks my heart. Colleen never fails. She writes beautiful words, deep emotional words that will make you crawl under the blanket and cry your eyes out.
When Colleen first announced Losing Hope, like everyone else, I thought this would be Holder's POV of Hopeless. And if you're a Hopeless fan, you were mostly likely going to read it. Why not? He's hot and he's the best whipped boyfriend ever. Little did I know I would be reading his story.
Holder is a hopeless boy who felt unworthy ever since he "failed" the two most important people in his life. He drowned with guilt, unable to live life. Until he meets Sky. Losing Hope is about his before and after story. A story in which he loses hope and his way back to finding it.
The book starts the night before everything goes down the drain for Holder. You think you know Holder from Hopeless, well you are wrong. The pain he goes through is to much to bare. You will get to know him better through his letters. The first letter to his dead sister will break your heart over and over again. Your heart will ache for him. In this letter he writes his discovery, his first guilt and blame.
"When a guy loves a girl, especially his sister, he's supposed to know what makes her smile and what makes her cry".
Throughout the book you will find answers to the many questions you asked while reading Hopeless. The reactions and actions of Holder, that is. From the first time he sees Sky to day he walked out of the cafeteria when he spot Sky wearing the bracelet. I love how Colleen will make you fall in love with him all over again. One of my favorite quotes from the book - “I’ve loved Hope since we were kids. But tonight? Tonight I fell in love with Sky.”
This is a must read book. If you haven't read Hopeless, put everything now and go buy the book. This is a "quit your job one sit read". I'm in love with Colleen's words.
it's quite a long waiting for the release date!!
