Not long ago, Chloe Lilywhite seemingly had it all: a prized spot on the Magicals’ Council as lead Creator, a loving fiancé and Connection, and a wealth of good friends. But the poised young woman she projected was nothing more than a façade. Her parents all but disowned her. Power plays and accusations of murder within the Council rocked her confidence. And most difficult of all, her secret, a secondary Connection to Jonah’s twin brother, Kellan, became painfully impossible to resist. Desperate to gain control over her rapidly unraveling existence, Chloe did the unthinkable: she ran away.

Now living and working in Alaska under an alias, Chloe is slowly discovering who she is and, more importantly, who she wants to be. But the more she tries to leave the Magical world behind, the harder it becomes to stay hidden. The Elders are back with a vengeance, and the stakes have never been higher. Chloe finally has to make a choice: embrace her pre-ordained Fate or pave her own way in the worlds. One thing’s for sure, though—she’s finally up for the challenge.

*This is a New Adult title, suitable for readers 18+*

Heather Lyons is pure genius! This series just blows me away. Just when I think I know what is going to happen BAM, another twist that has me on the edge of my seat. I cannot put into words just how much I love Heather’s writing. When I think of a good book, it’s one of those that makes you laugh, cry and makes you feel downright good in general. This series has exceeded my expectations and was just brilliant. I laughed, cried, screamed with fury and was brought to my knees with sorrow at times. I felt what Chloe felt, I cried when Chloe cried. To be able to feel the emotions wafting off of the pages you are reading is the best feeling to have as a reader and in my opinion you know the author is an amazing one to be able to give you that liveliness from words written on a page.

A Matter of Truth picked up right where a Matter of Heart left off. Chloe Lilywhite is fleeing from her life. Having such a strong connection to her fiancé Jonah and his twin brother Kellan, is eating her alive. I couldn’t imagine the struggle and pain to have to choose between two men that you adore. Chloe feels that she is putting too much pain between the brothers and thinks it’s best to leave than to stay and continuously hurt them both.

The book begins with Chloe working in a diner in Alaska. She has made some spectacular friends and was kind of enjoying the life of a normal person for a change. This is where we meet Will. Will and his father Cameron know that Chloe is running from something but they don’t pry but rather take Chloe under their wings and help her out. Will has his own demons and I think this is why Chloe and he get along so well. They even each other out and end up helping each other tremendously with the frustrations in life. Chloe ends up finding her true self while in Alaska but is it too late to make things right back home?

This book was fabulous!! I am not sure if I put enough detail in this review, but I really don’t want to give away too much. It’s definitely worth reading it and being surprised. Most of the time when you read a book you can figure out what is going to happen. That is NOT the case with this book or even this series. They are purely AMAZING!!! This book was not only about a love story, but it was full of action, suspense, self-discovery and some major butt kicking! The end came way to fast and was very unexpected.

About Heather Lyons:

Heather Lyons has always had a thing for words—She’s been writing stories since she was a kid. In addition to writing, she’s also been an archaeologist and a teacher. Heather is a rabid music fan, as evidenced by her (mostly) music-centric blog, and she’s married to an even larger music snob. They’re happily raising three kids who are mini music fiends who love to read and be read to.
