In New York Times bestselling author Emma Chase’s sizzling and hilarious debut novel, Drew Evans—gorgeous, arrogant, irreverent, and irresistibly charming—meets his match in new colleague Kate Brooks.

Drew Evans is handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu. But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

I will admit that at first glance of the cover I was a bit hesitant. I just knew this was going to be another cheesy sex story with no substance.

BUT THIS!

This story, Drew’s story, is nothing less than fabulous. It has been said that you can tell by the end of a book’s first chapter how you will feel about the rest of the book. I knew after the first two pages! It was hooked.

I loved Drew. The entire story is told from his point of view and it was hilarious and dirty and arrogant and freaking sexy! Drew is a “never say no to a challenge” kind of guy. He is wealthy and handsome and uses his charm and slick way with words to get what he wants and who he wants. Did I mention that he can be an ass and a bit of a tramp?

And then there is Kate. Kate is the smoking hot new employee at Drew’s marketing firm. In his rule book, that means hands-off. But Kate has done the impossible. She has cast a spell on him that he won’t soon forget. One problem, she’s engaged.

And so the battle (more like a tumultuous dance) begins between Drew and Kate. A fierce competition for a hot account at work and the smolder brewing between them, between the sheets, it’s almost too much!I loved that Drew’s narration is very blunt and to the point. No holds barred just you and Drew sitting down for some juicy gossip.

My favorite lines in the book come from Kate’s 4 year old daughter speaking to Drew.

Mackenzie raises her hand proudly. “I have a bagina.”
I smirk. “Yes you do sweetheart. And someday, it’s gonna help you rule the world.
“Johnny Fitzgerald has a penis. He says his penis is better than my bagina.”
“Johnny Fitzgerald’s an idiot. Vaginas beat penises every time. They’re like kryptonite. Penises are defenseless against them.”

Near the end of the story, we do finally get to see a softer side of Drew. He loves Kate, and you can feel it, the way he longs for her, the way he loves her. This story has tons of humor, really hot sex scenes and a hidden treasure of a love story. It is a gem.

I recommend it and look forward to the next books in the Tangled series.
