He's mine, and I'm his. Our love is all-consuming, powerful,
imperfect, and real...
In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington "Riptide" Tate as vital as the air he breathes . . . and now he can't live without her.
Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman's dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, she is torn away from his side. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.
MINE! 4 powerful letters when put together. If you thought Real was raw and powerful then Mine took it to the next round of battles. Katy Evans is a beast just like her character Remy, she is a lioness and pounces on you with her writing. Evans doesn't sugar coat anything. You get some serious in your face powerful love alongside a heart stopping storyline which deals with an illness that tends to be shoved under the rug or ignored.
It has been a while since I have literally been rocked all the way to my core. I applaud Evans for shining a light of something still to this day many don't accept as an illness while millions are affected by it everyday. For someone like myself that has fought her own inner demons for a very long time I can relate and understand it. Evans gave Remy the boxing and Brooke as his own personal medication which is just like what books and blogging have done for me the last several years. It gives our brains something to focus on other than the demons. So again thank you Katy for that. I wished I would have read these books before I met you at the Houston Book Rave because I would have given you the biggest tackle hug ever. You are awesomesauce to the 10th power.
Now let's talk about Remy and Brooke, can these two get any hotter? Probably so! We are talking about Remington "Riptide" Tate. In Mine these two characters grow up and help one another become better adults. The rawness is still there but now there is a new surprise, unexpected but great. If you thought they were possessive before wait till you wrap your heads around Mine. So much has been literally turned up and only Remy and Brooke can help each other survive the long and short life changes coming their way. I forgot to mention that during all this they still have to deal with the nasty SOB Scorpion, ugh I just want to jump in the pages and gouge his eyes out. Ok that felt good to express. Lol!
Seriously if your one of the few like me that haven't picked up this series. Do it now! Make it your 2014 series to read in January. I'm super excited to read Remy next and actually be inside Remy's mind and thoughts. I'm am sure to be blown away.
p.s. I was a bit thrown off with the cover once I finished the book. I went in thinking Brooke was going to turn fighter or something with a cover like that but she didn't end up training the way I thought she would, lol.
I also recommend listening to the songs mentioned in the book while reading, its euphoric in a way. love love love all the song choices Evan's uses so that Remy and Brooke could speak to one another when words just wouldn't come to them easily.
I love it when a book brings out our emotions like that. :) Great review, Yara!
