Mila 2.0 is the first book in an electrifying sci-fi thriller series about a teenage girl who discovers that she is an experiment in artificial intelligence.
Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past—that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.
Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.
Mila 2.0 is Debra Driza’s bold debut and the first book in a Bourne Identity-style trilogy that combines heart-pounding action with a riveting exploration of what it really means to be human. Fans of I Am Number Four will love Mila for who she is and what she longs to be—and a cliffhanger ending will leave them breathlessly awaiting the sequel.
At a Glance:
I’ll be honest; I didn’t know this book was out there. I only came across it because Yara had received the second book and it catched my attention. After reading the synopsis, well let’s just say I love technology – you say android and I go gaga.
Cover:
At fist I thought this had to be a cover of a Photoshop magazine cover or any other photography software cover. That cover is that crazy good. The girl face is half flawless and the other half is robot like.
Action:
MILA is an android, a killing machine… in other words, RUN! Of course there is action!
Heroine/Hero:
Mila is designed to kill but with the help of her “mother”, she has learned to develop human emotions. I loved her character. Not only is she a badass, but the girl is crushing on a hottie! She has great taste.
Romance:
Although we get very little romance part, I couldn’t wait for Hunter to reappear in the story. The moments Mila and Hunter shared together were so sweet and I needed more.
Something I loved:
Although Mila leans the truth, this doesn’t define her. She truly cared for her mother and stood by her side no matter what the cost was. Yes, I really loved her character. I wouldn’t mess with her.
Cliffhanger:
YES! And I need to read the second book pronto! I need to know what Mila is planning to do next.
Would I recommend it?
Advance technology with a twist of romance? Sign me up! Of course I will recommend this book if you are sucker for action and high tech devices (person-ish). Let’s not even forget about the battle scene, seriously a page turner.
