Save me and I'll save you... My name is Calla Price. I’m eighteen years old, and I’m one half of a whole. My other half-- my twin brother, my Finn-- is crazy. I love him. More than life, more than anything. And even though I’m terrified he’ll suck me down with him, no one can save him but me. I’m doing all I can to stay afloat in a sea of insanity, but I’m drowning more and more each day. So I reach out for a lifeline. Dare DuBray. He’s my savior and my anti-Christ. His arms are where I feel safe, where I’m afraid, where I belong, where I’m lost. He will heal me, break me, love me and hate me. He has the power to destroy me. Maybe that’s ok. Because I can’t seem to save Finn and love Dare without everyone getting hurt. Why? Because of a secret. A secret I’m so busy trying to figure out, that I never see it coming. You won’t either.
I can thank social media for bringing this book to my attention. I noticed a lot of talk about a book being taken down from Amazon for review. The support from Courtney Cole’s fans pushed me to want to know more about this book that everyone was talking about. So as soon as it was back up for purchase, I grabbed my copy and read it in two days.
Let’s see, how can I explain the greatness of this book? The author warns you in the beginning, of the darkness embedded in this read, however, don’t be alarm, your provided support as well in the end (and believe me it’s greatly needed). The major characters of this novel, is Calla, Finn, and Dare. 3 characters with deep secrets. Too deep to share with one another. As twins, Calla and Finn live a life as one, with Dare as an additional link capturing Calla’s heart. This story is beautifully written. A dark story, beautifully written? Yes! Courtney has crafted events that are original, like none I’ve read before. So it’s the originality, descriptions, and attention to detail that had my head stuck in a Kindle nonstop, until the very end!
I really enjoy this author's books. She had another book about two years ago that I read that was a darkish book that had a good romance plot line in it that I enjoyed. I can't wait to read this one now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great review!
That synopsis is really interesting. I've only heard of this tile because of social media as well, is tehre a reason why it was taken down?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'll take your word that this is amazing, I'll be sure to grab it this Christmas season (when I have nothing but time on my hands!)
