YA horror fans… mark your calendars for September 15th.
When we first got a glimpse at debut author Dawn Kurtagich's The Dead House, our reaction was: WHOA, that is cool. And creepy.
Naturally, we had to know what Dawn thought as well. She responded:
I love this cover! When I first saw some concept art, which looked very much like the cover you see here, I was blown away. How did the Little, Brown YR art team know? You see, my first reaction was: that’s Kaitlyn. We love it, and we may be slightly obsessed with how mysterious and dark it is. Just slightly.
Kaitlyn’s first words are: “I am myself again.” She certainly is herself on this cover!
Kaitlyn is a girl who has only ever known darkness, and she’s trapped by that. When I saw her on the cover, hidden by shadows, wrapped in those sinister branches, rising up out of the Dead House itself, I knew we had her. We had Kaitlyn. We had the cover. I hope you love it as much as I do!
Wondering who Kaitlyn is? Get the full details of this dark tale on Goodreads, and add it to your to-read shelf. This is one chilling psychological horror story you’re not going to want to miss this fall.
+ check out the UK cover from our friends at fiercefiction. They’ve got a different one, and it’s just as cool.

awesome cover and really interesting book. I'm trying to get myself to read more horror books. Looks like this is one of the books I'll keep my eyes out for :)
