Katy Evans
Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to love. They married and are now hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning…
This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.
Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.
Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.
But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.
What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?
Interview with Author Katy Evans
Hi Yara! Thanks so much for having me over today, it's a thrill to be here "connecting" online! :) Okay, as for intro . . . I'm Katy Evans, author of the Real series and the upcoming Manwhore series. Real debuted in 2013 as the first in the Real series and from that moment on, I've been truly blessed to be able to share my characters and stories with readers. The first book in my new series, Manwhore, releases March 24th and I'm especially excited about sharing this story.
OUaT: When I first heard of your new series, I literally jumped for joy. Can you tell us about your new sinful series that has a title that screams sexy, Manwhore is sure to grab anyone attention.
I truly hope readers fall in love with this story like I did! Manwhore begins with my heroine, Rachel, getting an assignment to approach and investigate Chicago's most notorious womanizer, the toe-curlingly gorgeous Malcolm Saint. What's great about Saint is that we get a glimpse of him through the social media first - basically, gossip. Before our heroine meets him in person, she judges him based on the exterior persona that he projects to the world. Daredevil. Ruthless. Relentless. A playboy. All true. But when Rachel is assigned to get the "real" deets on him, we get to see another side of him that you'd never expect. And that's what truly made me fall for him - I hope readers will fall for him as hard as I did too. There is SO much more to this man than meets the eye. He is so much more than a "manwhore."
OUaT: How did it feel to write about a new sexy bad boy? I really believe Malcolm Saint will give Remy a run for his money. I personally can't decide who I pine for the most now.
I loved meeting new characters and delving into their world. It felt fresh to me and exciting, and it gave me the opportunity to do what I most enjoy doing, which is watching two people fall in love.
OUaT: In your Real series, your main character Remy deals with a manic depressive illness that was just as important to the story as the romance. It was part of who "Riptide" was. What would you say is important in "Saints" story in Manwhore?
I think one of Saint’s handicaps is the fact that he’s so popular around town and so very famous. People are obsessed with him, and in one way or another, Saint has grown up to be a closed-off man, unaffected by what they say even while people clearly objectify him. He’s his true, unguarded self with very few people, so when Rachel becomes one of those ‘people’, it’s sheer magic to watch him open up.
OUaT: Now that I have finished reading Manwhore, book 1 in the series and the cliffhanger you shared, I am counting down till I get book 2 in my hands. How many books are planned in the series and will it all be circulating around Malcolm or will you eventually bring in new bad boys like you did in the Real series?
I can’t tell you how eager I am to share the next book with you! So far, the first books are only Malcolm and Rachel’s, but I’m definitely hoping to explore their world for future books since I really, really like it there.
OUaT: Do you have any other works in the pipeline besides the Manwhore series?
There's a Real book, #6, possibly to come - though I'm still waiting for the characters to solidify the story in my head. I also hope to maybe write a story about Malcolm and Rachel's friends once I finish with theirs. And there's a third idea teasing me in the back of my mind. I'm not sure how fiercely it will possess me, but if it does, then that'll definitely be coming soon too!
OUaT: What kind of research went into writing Manwhore and was it different than when you wrote the Real series?
I think I do a lot of my research slowly, living my life and following my passions, and sometimes those passions or interests later surface in a book. They surface naturally and only when the story seems to call it forward so it’s not “planned” but very organic.
OUaT: If your readers could walk away with one thing from Manwhore, what would you like it to be?
Manwhore touched me in so many ways, but if I only had to choose one way, then I hope it touches readers in that electrifying way it did me; watching this hot guy and this really nice girl, neither of them looking for love, discover love for the first time in their lives. It’s almost as if they come alive by that love. Electrified by it, for sure. :)
OUaT: I don't know about you but I'm a visual reader, once I connect with a book character, I try and picture someone famous that resembles the character to me so as I'm reading I can picture that person. Can you help me and your fans out by giving us some choices as to who you see as your Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint?
Oh, I have many Saint muses. Chris Hemsworth is the muse for all my heroes, he’s just a god! As is Channing Tatum. Some of my other muses were a dark-haired version of the sexy Travis Fimmel, David Gandy, Chris Pine, a slightly older Robbie Amell, Colin Egglesfield, and plenty of hot men whose names I don’t know but who grace my “muse” wall in my writer’s cave.
OUaT: Thank you Katy for taking time to answer these question. Before you go would you like to tell your fans of any upcoming book signings you'll be attending this year?
Thank YOU so much for having me over, Yara! I loved spending time here today. As for book signings, yes! I will be in Las Vegas at the Love N. Books signing on July 17th and I look forward to meeting everyone. Hope to see you there. XO
