A book began the bond of a lifetime...
Today on Throwback Thursday, we are sharing with you Shannon's first time at LA Times Festival of Books experience!
Day One:
So when I heard that John Green was going to be attending the LA Times Festival of Books I knew I had to be there, not only was Green attending, but Veronica Roth and Tahereh Mafi. I knew I wasn't going to miss this.
This is where John Green was accepting his Innovator Award. Best thing ever is seeing authors getting recognized for their hard work. And being surrounded by people that get you, they understand the wanting to be nose deep in a book than face reality sometimes.
After the book prizes I got to meet Rainbow Rowell and Tahereh Mafi. At this time I hadn't read anything by Rainbow (but owned at least half her boooks, and just finished falling in love with Warner, So I wasn't wasting this opportunity.
Day Two:
Day two was when all the fun began, all the panels aka "conversations", all the books for sale, ALL THE BOOKS.
John Green's Conversation with moderator!
When Tahereh said all the beautiful words about the beautiful Warner.
Warner Creator. (It may not be clear but I LOVE Warner)
Day Three:
Day three was a lot of walking around, checking out all the book stands, eating from all the food trucks and meeting authors on my TBR list.
Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira
If you ever have the chance to attend The Los Angeles Festival of Books I'd take full advantage! The festival was free and you just had to pay for any convenience fees for any conversations you wanted to attend. I'm so glad I was able to make the trip out there and can't wait to attend again!
