After a devastating love affair broke her heart—and derailed her career—it’s taken Brie Grayson a while to recover. Now she’s back at a top New York City law firm, determined to rise above it all. And she’ll have to—especially when a major new client turns out to be the boy who made the seventh grade a living hell. This is an Adult romance novel recommended for ages 18+ due to sexual content and mature subject matter.
Luxury hotel magnate Maddox Monroe has clawed his way out of the ruins of his former life to build an empire. He knows what he wants and how to get it. But he couldn’t have anticipated reconnecting with the girl of his boyhood fantasies—all grown up and more alluring than ever.
But once Maddox breaks through Brie’s barriers to find the fiery woman hidden underneath, will lust lead to something lasting? Or will past heartache and fresh betrayals tear their future apart before it even has a chance to begin?
Maddox and Brie have known each other for years. But things were not always great and they were not friends. I guess the saying "boys are mean to the girls they like best" is true! Maddox made Brie's 7th grade year hell. He wasnt nice to her and made fun of her all the time. She assumed that he hated her, well after that year she would move on to another school and not see Maddox again for 20 ish years, and at the next meeting they would have built up their careers and lives and now in their 30's. Brie didnt recognize Maddox after all them years but he sure remembered her. Yea Brie thought he was hot but defiantly put him in his place!
What I enjoyed most about Mad About The Man is watching them go back and forth, watching him want her and her pushing him away. (great reading entertainment for sure!) Then watching as they realize they got so much in common and they get along great, enjoy time in bed and out of bed. You can just watch as the words come to see that both of them are falling in love, even if neither want to admit it to each other or themselves!
This book is fantastic, I would recommended this book to anyone who loves reading about adults who knew each other as kids, but didnt get along then, but then grew up to be perfect for each other in every way! This is a sweet love story, that has it up's and down's just like in real life! If you like stories like this, then Mad About The Man is a must!
Great review. I love this author, I have read the first book and really liked it. Love it when childhood playmates fall in love when they get older.
