The Smell Of Other People's Houses follows 4 very different characters who are all trying to find their way in life. Each one with their own bumps in the road and each one with a very clear ambitions for their life.

Hitchcock brought such an honest story to life. It hooks you from the very beginning and it connects you with these characters. From the moment you meet each one, you love them all. I especially loved Dora - she seemed to be the one who I was able to relate to the most. She seemed so down to earth while trying her hardest to get everything out of life that is offered to us.

This book was such a quick read, I picked it up and the next day I had finished it. Hitchcock has a way of immersing readers into this world and not allowing them to leave it. After finishing The Smell Of Other People's Houses I find myself still immersed in that world. With how Hitchcock wrote her characters it makes it hard to believe that they are just a fiction tale.

Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock was born and raised in Alaska. She worked many years fishing commercially with her family and as a reporter for Alaska Public Radio stations around the state. She was also the host and producer of “Independent Native News,” a daily newscast produced in Fairbanks, focusing on Alaska Natives, American Indians, and Canada’s First Nations. Her writing is inspired by her family’s four generations in Alaska.
