I remember I was in 9th grade when I first read a novel by Lurlene McDaniel. I remember crying my eyes out and the story was beautiful, heartbreaking yet heartwarming. The following day, I went to my teacher and told her I wanted to read another book of hers and she gave me about 10 books, all of course by Lurlene. Within a week I've read them all. I went back to my teacher and from then on, she realized I loved reading. She started bringing me copies of her personal library and shared Lurlene's books with me. I am so thankful for her!
