With any great change, there is always strife, and the Covenant University has become the frontline between pure-bloods who want the Breed Order reinstated and the half-bloods who want the right to control their own destinies.
Fate has other plans.
The violence is escalating and war between the races seems inevitable, and it couldn’t come at a worse time. Hyperion may be out of commission, but Josie and Seth know they have only earned a reprieve. Seth must get Josie fully prepared, which means controlling her newfound abilities, and they need to find the other demigods before the Titans do.
But the gods are sensing a greater threat.
Only one thing is more dangerous than a bunch of starved Titans, and that’s an out-of-control Apollyon. The aether in Josie is drawing Seth in deeper, and when lust mixes with love and gives way to power, he knows being close to her is not only dangerous to her, but to everyone around them, but letting her go requires a level of selflessness that just isn’t Seth’s style.
The paths taken in the past are becoming the roads of the future.
Just as chaos breaks out, familiar faces from the past return, complicating the already strained bond between Josie and Seth, and when the danger from the Titans erupts with devastating consequences, the dark allure of power calls to Seth again, but this time Josie might not be able to pull him back.
And when the struggle between power and love becomes the deadliest battleground, there may be no salvation.
Guys, you're in for a treat. A very attractive treat in the form of Seth.
I didn't think I could enjoy this as much as the Covenant series because that series stole my heart and stole my social life away. The Power was emotionally gripping and ever so powerful. And good luck trying to get me away from the series when I'm reading it, because it ain't happening.
There is so much going on here. The Titans are still hunting down the demi-gods in hope to take their energy and conquer power over the greek gods, the pure-bloods hatred over half-bloods hit an all time high, and then there's Seth and Josie. Whilst Seth is still dealing with his inner demons and fighting his attraction with Josie, she's training to unleash a can of whoop ass on the one's who hope to do her and her friends harm. The storyline constantly has something going on and I love it. It's action packed, full of mythology and the best part, the romance.
We discover a lot of things about Seth. He's been a closed door for so long now and it broke my heart that he never really had somebody to share his stories with, but the door is cracking open and Josie is the reason why. She gives him purpose more than being the former God Killer and he teachers her to be the demi-god that she was born to be. They balance each other out.
I have to say one of my favourite things I'm enjoying about this series are the characters. The wonderful group of friends carried over from the Covenant series, how close they all are and the wittiness. We're always getting glimpse of the background characters, even Alex and Aidan, and I love that they're still apart of the series!
It's tragic that you blink and it's over. Done with. The wait begins again for the next instalment. It's such a great read that time flies when you read it and it's almost like you only picked the book up and you're putting it straight back down. If you enjoy action, cocky greek gods and witty characters, this is for you. Read it, you won't regret it.
