The memories & skills of a deceased CIA agent are implanted into an unpredictable and dangerous convict.
Once Upon A Twilight was thrilled to join Criminal actor, Amaury Nolasco, for a fun and exciting activity at South Beach Room Escape on April 13th, a great event hosted by Lion Gate Movies and Criminal movie. For those of you who do not know what South Beach Room Escape is, it a highly creative and exhilarating activity where you are locked in a room and challenged with brainteasing activities based on logic and teamwork. Those locked inside only only have 60 minutes to figure out how to escape the room and are given clues via walkie-talkie along the way if they get stuck. On a regular day, this is a fun activity to do - but it’s much more fun when the film’s star, Amaury, is communicating with you via walkie-talkie and giving you clues along the way!
The setting was perfect for the occasion - the room was decked out in the theme for Criminal - a sociological thriller where a CIA agent (Ryan Reynolds) is on a mission to track down a hacker nicknamed “The Dutchman.” When a serious of misfortunate events occur, a experimental procedure is used to transfer the agent's memories into a dangerous ex-convict Jericho Stewart (Kevin Costner) to carry out the mission. I don’t want to give too much away as I for one dislike spoilers, so make sure to check out Criminals in theaters tomorrow - Friday, April 15th!
Once we entered the room, the first couple of things we saw were a whiteboard with many letters on it, a countdown clock, a locker, an exercise bike and a jail cell with more equipment inside. The locker and jail cell were locked with bolts - and we quickly realized we need to somehow find keys among many other things to find our way out. In another room, Amaury would communicate with us via a walkie-talkie when we were in need of a clue to move things forward. It was a great challenge and we were able to complete the task and escape with 20 minutes to spare! If it wasn't for Amaury helping us along the way, I'm sure we would've been in there the whole day.
Amaury met with us before we entered the room and he was such a pleasure to meet and talk to and we are so fortunate for the opportunity to chat with him and take photos. He was also there to cheer for us once we got out! Check out our Instagram account to view a photo and video we took on-site!
Once again, thank you so much to Amaury, Criminal movie, Lionsgate Movies and Allied Miami for the opportunity and make sure to see the film out in theaters this Friday, April 15th.
