In the 3D animated comedy, The Angry Birds Movie, we'll finally find out why the birds are so angry. The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds - or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We're the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it's up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.
Based off of the ever popular video game Angry Birds this movie is one for the kids. Yes there is adult humor but it's very kid friendly. My theater during the screening was filled with children and that made the screening more fun. I love being in a theater with kids because they are usually so honest. They were all always laughing - even if they didn't understand the joke - just because they were having such a good time. I was laughing because the jokes were pretty hilarious!
The best part of the film was when the movie took on what we know as the game. I, myself, love the game Angry Birds (especially the Star Wars version). So when the movie took on the role of the game I felt that I had made the right decision in seeing it. If you are a lover of the video game you too will rejoice when this part comes on. I sat there getting excited for all of the special birds with their special abilities. I love the hatchlings - they're adorable and in the game they're my favorite!
