No one can know about our love—and hiding only makes it hotter.** This is an Adult romance novel recommended for ages 18+ due to sexual content and mature subject matter.**
Dallas Sykes has a reputation. He is known for his parties, his money, and the countless women on his arm. Yet the Dallas I know is a different man—darker, smarter, and unbearably sexy. Just one look from him can leave me breathless; the anticipation of his touch can make me lose control.
Inextricably bound by our past, we keep each other’s secrets. And while there are people who have the power to hurt us, it’s the truth that threatens us most of all.
Dallas can be mine only behind closed doors, our passion as searing as it is forbidden. Yet nothing in this world has ever felt so desperately, deliciously right.
The first book had me hungry for more, book two didn't pick up for me till a little after halfway. Although the sheer sexiness can make up for some of the issues in moving the story along so slowly, it was just a quick band-aid.
I found a a few plot holes that were plugged up with, ahem plenty of super hot sex. It makes a girl ache but mentally I was looking for a more movable plot. When I started the book I couldn't keep a blush from my face as I was reading while out and about, the chapter titles (as was with the first book) were forward and funny but also quite rated R.
The writing style in it's self is still great, I love the way J. Kenner writes, its fresh and straight forward and fun! One has to read book one for everything to be fully understood in book two but then again, book two took a lot of time to re explain many of the key points and nuances, I'm not a fan of redundancy. Having said that, it was a good read despite the few short comings I'm nit picking at. it is a raunchy forbidden love story and it's so much fun to indulge in this genre. I enjoy reading the inner turmoil of Jane over her relationship with her brother, Dallas. Taboo is the appropriate word, but they aren't siblings by blood only marriage. Calm down!
Outside of such a sexy tale of forbidden love there is some serious plot moving it forward, albeit slowly in book two (for me). Dallas maneuvers Deliverance, an underground ops searching and prosecuting kidnappers outside of the law. His main mission, find the sons of bitches who kidnapped him and Jane when they were fifteen years old, and only one name is coming to his mind right now, Collins. Is it just a rumor or was he really a apart of it all back then? He cannot tell Jane, not yet anyway. In the hopes I stop myself before spoilers I'd say give it a go, it might not be too slow of a read for others but the story of their relationship is hotter than hot and oh man, don't stray too far from the house, you might need to get some between chapters.
