Los Angeles, CA – July 11, 2024 – CJ ENM today announced a groundbreaking partnership to broadcast the main stage concert on Sunday, July 28 starting at 8 pm ETlive from KCON LA 2024 on The CW Network. This historic event marks the first time a K-pop performance show will be broadcast live in primetime on national television in the United States, a testament to the genre's explosive global growth and the unwavering dedication of its fans. KCON, the world’s largest K-POP Fan & Artist Festival, will take place from July 26-28 at the LA Convention Center, GILBERT LINDSAY PLAZA, and Crypto.com Arena.
This year, KCON LA, presented by Samsung Galaxy as the title sponsor, promises an event bigger than ever with more daytime stages, programming and content to bring a livelier festival atmosphere to LA K-pop fans. KCON is a three-day festival that holds a variety of fan activities and live performances throughout the day before culminating with three huge nights of concerts that are presented under the M COUNTDOWN name, a popular weekly live performance program in South Korea, run by CJ ENM’s music channel Mnet.
Viewers who tune-in to the live broadcast of KCON LA 2024 on The CW can expect to see the pinnacle of K-pop live TV production as multiple acts perform their biggest hits to eye-poppingly precise choreography. As the flagship event of the KCON series, which is produced by CJ ENM, KCON LA has evolved from a single-day event in Irvine in 2012 to become a global platform celebrating K-pop and Korean culture. The event series has already visited Hong Kong, Japan, and will soon take place for the first time in Germany on September 28th and 29th.
